Two posts in two days! Gosh! Either the world has gone mad or I need a trip to the doctors :D Anyhoo...

The "Altered Sardine Tin" swap (yep, you read that correct) hosted by Suzycad on UKScrappers is fast drawing to a close. The idea was to take a used (obviously) sardine tin or similar and alter it to a chosen theme. The subject my swapee chose was circus. So, after a good wash (of the tin) I painted the outside with acrylics and left it to dry. I made a curtain out of some fun foam, added bobble ribbon, a few circus images and some sawdust nicked from the builders remnants (not literally lol) and voila! Finished. I hope Francis likes it...

I am taking part in the UKScrappers Christmas Mini Book Swap hosted again by Lynne. Here is my contribution. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the holly. After sanding down some of the base paper, I swiped the raised areas with a Tim Holtz distress ink pad, coloured the berries with a Dylusions ink spray in bubblegum pink and highlighted some areas with a white Posca pen to look like snow. After adding a Tim Holtz die cut crown and some bling and a strip of wording they were ready to go.

Leaving to have your baby

I was asked to do a leaving card for someone at work. She is not the frilly type, nor does she know the sex of her baby. I decided to do a white crib, trying to be as neutral as possible. I hope she likes it...

Kitchen (or lack of)...

We are having our kitchen done...it's a bloody nightmare. So much more so than when we had the bathroom done. Not so, according to my other half :O but I disagree. I have nowhere to cook or wash up and no room in the living room to manoeuvre. Ah well, by this time next week hopefully it'll all be over...

Mini Book Swap - UKS

I am taking part in a Mini Book swap run by Lynne on UK Scrappers. There are 10 of us in the swap and we all make 10 Mini Book pages and receive 9 different ones back.

This is my contribution:

Card for America

JaneH on UK. Scrappers has asked if us girlies would make a card for a guy in America, who is terminally ill. Here is my contribution. I hope it goes some way to cheering his day a little, knowing that people from all over are thinking of him.

Wall Art

I found a 17 x 17 frame in TK Max and couldn't resist it. The plan being to paint something for my craft room wall. I like to draw and paint psychedelic flowers to decided to give it a go. The result, step by step, is below.

Journal Pages

Decided to upload 3 journal pages that I completed recently. Looking at them now, they seem a bit maudlin. I think they truly reflect the way I was feeling at the time. Things seem to creep up on you and before you know it another hour, day, week or month has flown past.

I used pan pastels for the orange background, which I left until last

Pan pastel background again

Splodges of red acrylic ink and some washi tape

Domino Swap

Well, I finally finished altering my domino for the UKS swap and it's now winging its way to my swapee, via the wonderful world of Royal Mail. I hope she likes it. I decorated a little box for it to travel in so, hopefully, it will arrive safe and sound.

Archive Gig

I am soooo looking forward to tonight. One of our local bands, Archive, are playing in a pub near to where I live. We are regular followers and always have a good time, meeting up with a gang of friends that we have known for 30 odd years. They are a cover band belting out 60's 70's and 80's hits and they do it very well :) Two of the group are old friends and it's always good to meet up with them. They even let me join in with a chorus or two on occasion but, for some reason, it's a bit of a struggle trying to grab some mic space.....

Domino Book Swap UKS

Well people, this is the second day of my blog and here's another sneak peek at my domino book. I used my craft robo to cut out the cogs / wheels strip from a border template created and shared by the talented Kris (Sugar n Spice) over on the UKS Craft Robo forum.

Domino Book Swap UK Scrappers

I joined in the Domino Book Swap on UK Scrappers, which was a bit daunting for me seeing as the other swapees are quite a talented bunch, and a bit out of my league. Anyhoo, I took the bull by the horns and had a go. We were given a secret swapee name along with their chosen theme by our host, Chrissie. My (so far) secret swapee is the lovely Leanie over on UKS with her chosen theme of Steampunk with a Proverb. I'm posting a sneaky peak but it's not quite finished yet as I'm still waiting for bits to dry (sigh) I hope she likes my contribution so far...
